MBTI and Intelligence

It may seem silly to correlate these two to some, but some do seem to think that there is a strong correlation. I used to think as well, when I first learnt of the MBTI framework, that a “T” or a “F” can mean a higher IQ or EQ. But it is not the case.

Now just because you have “F” in your type, does not necessarily imply that you’d have a higher EQ. Likewise, just because you have “T” in your type, does not necessarily imply that you’d have a higher IQ. It goes on for the perceiving functions as well. “S” does not imply a higher physical awareness and “N” does not imply that you see patterns better than others.

These letters just say what your preferred cognitive functions are. And just because a person prefers card to cash, does not necessarily mean that that person has a high transaction limit on the card than a person who prefers cash over card, for example. There are other variables at play as well.

Got something to say? Feel free! Just don't be too harsh.
